After getting married on March 21, 1972, Honey Irani and Javed Akhtar split up in 1982. In 1984, Javed Akhtar married Shabana Azmi.
Shabana Azmi recently talked about how many were a little surprised when she married Javed Akhtar in an interview with Filmfare. People believed that Shabana Azmi was a feminist role model and that she was violating Honey Irani’s rights.
According to Shabana Azmi, “I was this feminist role model. And I would done something that could not be explained. Because I felt like I was violating another woman’s rights with every word I spoke in order to satisfy my own desires. People who supported me as a feminist, in my opinion, had every right to feel that way. However, I reasoned that if I began to describe the reasons behind it, it would cause a great deal more harm to the individuals and families involved. It was best to remain silent, and I believe that was a very wise choice because the mud that was thrown at me eventually subsided.
Shabana Azmi went on to elaborate on their harmonious connection, giving Honey Irani full credit.
“That was possible because no mud was thrown there,” Shaban Azmi continued. That is Javed, Honey, and I who deserve the credit. The reason you are in such a rush to explain is that what was thought to be an error must also have a basis. However, it was sensible for all three of us to avoid from doing so.
