Fans have been waiting for the reunion of the two titans of Indian cinema for more than thirty years, and Kamal Haasan on Friday characterized his upcoming film, Thug Life, a gangster drama directed by Mani Ratnam, as a peace offering.

The two were well-known for their work on the 1987 epic crime film Nayakan, which won numerous National Film Awards and was a tremendous commercial and critical success.

With a star-studded ensemble that includes performers from both the north and south film industries, they have now reassembled for another criminal drama, Thig Life, which promises high-octane action.

“All we can do is apologize. Our offering for peace is this movie. Furthermore, we are to blame. We had the option. We continued believing we could have done it, thus we are to blame. At the premiere of the film’s opening song, Jinguchaa, Haasan stated, “But do not use it as a platform for an apology.”

Haasan claimed that despite working together for more than 35 years, their relationship remains unchanged.

“My relationship with Mani sir has not changed. About a quarter of what we discussed has been completed. Nayakan is one, while Thug Life is the other. We still have a ways to go. because no movie allowed us to fulfill all of our aspirations. That will undoubtedly be the case in

“We have such big dreams, but we are then limited to fit our market and our budget,” he continued.

According to Haasan, a lot of people in the film industry are just worried about whether a film would be profitable.

It could result in a profit or a loss. However, the audience makes the final decision. And that is the way emerging artists develop. In the same way, STR (Silambarasan TR) has developed and is thriving. I am happy I was able to both produce and act in it. For a discriminating audience, it has been done with great love,” he remarked.

The actor also recalled the day when he and Ratnam were seated on a parked scooter in Chennai’s Alwarpet on Eldams Road and talking about movies.
