AICTE INSPECTION ORDERED; ₹400-CRORE CONDITION REPORTEDLY SET FOR CONTINUATION
KNS Institute of Technology (KNSIT) is reportedly facing a major regulatory issue after the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) ordered an inspection of the institution.
The development has created uncertainty among students about their classes, upcoming examinations and the future of the college.
LAND ISSUE UNDER GOVERNMENT REVIEW
Government authorities have reportedly been raising concerns for several years about the land where the college campus is located.
According to the reported claims, questions have been raised about whether the campus is located on land classified as forest or jungle land. The issue has now come under further government and regulatory review.
₹400-CRORE CONDITION FOR SAVING THE COLLEGE
In a major development, the government has reportedly informed the management that it may have to meet a financial requirement of around ₹400 crore if it wants to continue running the college.
The amount is reportedly linked to resolving the land, legal and regulatory issues connected with the institution.
The management would need to fulfil the required conditions before seeking permission to continue the college’s operations.
AICTE INSPECTION TO DECIDE THE NEXT STEP
As per the reported directions, the college may remain closed until AICTE officials complete their inspection.
The inspection is expected to cover the college’s approvals, land documents, infrastructure, academic facilities, student records and other required documents.
The inspection report will help the authorities decide what action should be taken next.

STUDENTS’ EXAMS MAY BE DELAYED
The situation is also expected to affect the examination schedule.
Upcoming examinations may be postponed or rescheduled. Students are expected to receive new examination dates after further discussions between the concerned authorities and the affiliating university.
₹1.75 LAKH IMMEDIATE ASSISTANCE
Amid the uncertainty, the university management has reportedly decided to provide ₹1.75 lakh as immediate financial assistance to each eligible affected student.
The amount is expected to provide temporary financial support while the matter is being resolved.
₹10 LAKH COMPENSATION FOR EACH STUDENT
Apart from the immediate assistance, the management has reportedly decided to provide ₹10 lakh compensation to each affected student for the disruption caused to their academic programmes.
The compensation will reportedly be subject to document verification and completion of the required formalities.
PAYMENT EXPECTED BY DECEMBER 2026–JANUARY 2027
The initial ₹1.75 lakh payment is reportedly expected to be released after the preliminary verification process.
The remaining ₹10 lakh compensation is expected to be processed between December 2026 and January 2027, after students complete the required documentation and other formalities.
MANAGEMENT FACES A MAJOR DECISION
The reported ₹400-crore requirement puts the management in a difficult position. It will have to decide whether to take the required financial and legal steps to continue the institution or proceed with arrangements for affected students.
For students, the main concerns are now their examinations, academic records, continuation of their courses and the reported compensation process.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
The AICTE inspection is expected to be the next major step.
After the inspection, the authorities are expected to review the findings and decide whether the college can continue operating, whether further conditions must be fulfilled, or whether additional action is required.
Further updates are expected after the AICTE inspection.
